A 2008 Hartland High School graduate, Jonathan Germane, is getting ready to take the next step in career after graduating with a degree in biomedical labratory science from Michigan State University this spring. 

Germane was also part of the ROTC program on campus for three years and earned the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Germane is getting ready to deploy to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri on July 9 where he will complete his Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course.

After five months of training, he will then be stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington where he work as a combat engineer.

He is assigned to the 555th, The Triple Nickel.
