4 Textbook Scholarships Available for 2012 MSU Freshman

  • February 8, 2012

Recognizing the increasing high costs of attending college, the MSU Alumni Club of Livingston County offers an annual scholarship of $750 to high school seniors residing in Livingston County. The funds are to be used for the purchase of textbooks, reading material, course packets, pamphlets, or other resource material required for the student’s courses while attending Michigan State University.

Thanks to our Livingston County alumni continuing support of the Silent Auction at the Sparty Gala, we are able to fund four Textbook Scholarships again in 2012. This year Jane Clarke will chair the selection committee with assistance by JoAnne Crain, Lois Halsted and Anne Parker. The process begins again in January. This year, however, the scholarship application will be on line at our website. All the counselors in Livingston County that were notified last year will be updated of this change by Lois Halsted, club secretary.

All applications are due to Jane Clarke by March 1, 2012. The Scholarship page on the website has the requirements listed and a link to the application. Students can save the application to their personal computer, complete the forms and essay, print hard copy for signature and mailing. We think the on line information and application will make it much easier for the applicants, as well as, readability for the scholarship committee.

Take an opportunity to review the Scholarship page and please refer the site to eligible high school seniors.
