Large Item Drop Off/Community Shred Event Set for Saturday
Hartland Township is holding a large item drop off and community shred event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the south parking lot of Hartland High School.
The service is for township residents only, according to an event flier.
Acceptable items include refrigerators/freezers ($20 for freon removal), large appliances, scrap metal, wood scraps, furniture, tires, mattresses, textiles, empty cardboard boxes electronics, TVs computer hardware (no monitors), microwaves, toliets, sinks, plumbing fixtures and other bulky items.
Unacceptable items include hazardous waste, commercial or business waste, soil, dirt, concrete, asphalt, construction debris, regular household garbage, yard waste, furniture with lead paint and cars.
The shred event accepts two to three boxes of paper per household and all materials are recycled. Acceptable materials include: junk mail, bank statements, manila folders and credit card statements. Staples, paper clips, rubber bands can be left on the items.
Magazines, newspapers, books, CDs, DVDs VHS tapes will not accepted.
There is no cost except for freon removal.
