Public Notice: Hearing on a Zoning Ordinance Change
The Hartland Township Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, July 14, 2011, to hear comments regarding the proposed amendments to the Hartland Township Zoning Ordinance #37. The hearing will be held at the Hartland Township Hall, 2655 Clark Road, Hartland, MI., at 7:00 P.M.

Proposing to amend Zoning Ordinance #37:
Article 5.00 – Off-Street Parking and Loading Requirements, E. Layout and Construction,
4. Surfacing and Draining - Proposed amendment to permit gravel roads and off-street parking areas in parks and cemeteries for public, quasi-public and religious facilities provided the owner provides sufficient evidence that the gravel surface will support the volume of traffic and submits a detailed maintenance plan. Off-street parking areas and drives shall be designed in accordance with the provisions for gravel private roads, per the Engineering Design Standards.
5. Curbs, Wheel Chocks – Proposed amendment to allow an alternate method of delineating parking areas and drives from grass areas as provided by the Planning Commission.
9. Screening and Landscaping – Proposed amendment to allow the Planning Commission to waive the required screening and landscaping for parking areas in parks and cemeteries. Screening and landscaping shall be required for parking areas located within 50 feet from a public right-of-way or residentially zoned area.
Article 10.02 KK – Outdoor Seating and Dining - Proposed amendment to allow the business name and its logo to be located on the outer edge of the umbrella fabric with a maximum height of 6 inches.
