WALMART TO PROVIDE 2,100 WREATHS TO HONOR FALLEN HEROES IN “WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA” CAMPAIGN
U.S. Veteran/Walmart Associate to deliver wreaths to Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly on December 15
WHAT: The Walmart Great Lakes Division, Region 19 has donated $21,000 to Wreaths Across America to sponsor 2,100 wreaths to be placed on Veterans’ graves to honor America’s fallen heroes.
U.S. Veteran and Walmart Associate Chuck Brandt will be driving a specially branded semi, “Wreaths Across America,” and depart the Hartland Supercenter at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15. The truck full of wreaths will then be escorted and saluted byHolly State Police, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Fenton Police Department, Holly Village Police and Holly Fire Department as the wreaths are transported to Great Lakes National Cemetery. The wreaths are scheduled to arrive at 10:30 a.m. for proper placement on Veterans’ graves.
Community volunteers are encouraged to volunteer to assist and attend the ceremony.
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Mainebusinessman, Morrill Worcester, in 1992.
The mission of Wreaths Across America; Remember, Honor, Teach, is carried out in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies on a specified Saturday in December at Arlington, as well as veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
