See here's the thing.connecticut has some of the strictest gun laws in the US.So how much stricter must they become?here in arizona we have quite lax gun laws ans yes we did havethe tucson shooting but our schools and children aren't getting shot at school.not too many people want to test to see who has a gun on them or not so it is relitively quiet out here on the gun violence...take away guns from the rightful people and the criminals win.they will be the armed factor and not have to worry about getting shot at while commiting crimes...

I wonder if the real issue of mental illness and the public not being able to point out some one who could be dangerous will come to the table. Granted, everyone has rights, but no one has the right to harm others. Currently you have to do something violent, before any mental health agency will look at you. Shame on the country that says any one who has a mental illness cannot be singled out, just because someone else thinks they may be dangerous. If the experiences of friends, co-workers, teachers, and family members were listened to,....there would not have been a Colombine, a Virginia Tech or a Newton. Lets do whats right. Who cares how many rounds a rifle or pistol can hold. It's just a matter of re-loading. Who cares what name or lable you put on a semi-auto rifle. A strictly sporting version with a pretty walnut stock works exactly the same as a "black" "AR" type. No difference at all. I'm not sure banning assault weapons will be the solution. The cat's already out of the bag, and they are prevalent in our society. I would however suggest that no one under 30 years of age be allowed to own a weapon, with the exceptions of Law Enforcement and Veterans.

This morning i heard a news story about how the Taliban stifil any desent in their regions as they proclaim a fundamentalism that is factually incorrect and brings harm to their constituents and death to innocents.
