Creekside's Anti-Bulling Campaign Featured on Detroit News Station

Kristy Short, creator of the "Spread the Nice" campaign and students from Creekside Elementary were featured on Channel 7-WXYZ.

Creekside Elementary and the 'Spread the Nice' campaign that launched this year at the Hartland elementary school was featured on Channel 7- WXYZ on Friday night.

The anti-bullying program, "Operation Nice" is part of the Zandra Humphrey series, created by author Kristy Short.

Short, along with students from the second grade classroom of Lynn Luck and Creekside's principal, Lawrence Pumford, were interviewed in the story.

“One of the things that I noticed as a principal is the number of referrals that I have received for discipline has decreased significantly,” Pumford said in the WXYZ interview. “So that’s been a very, very good thing… a sign that kids are happy at school.”

Short will be in Hartland on March 9, signing copies of her book at Kahuna Coffee that helps children learn to "spread the nice."
