Fall Is Coming Which Can Only Mean One Thing – Time for New Shoes
The seasons are changing, which brings new beginnings, old traditions and the opportunity to shop for a new wardrobe.
The seasons are changing. I can feel it in my wardrobe.
For some reason, I decided to wear a hoodie this morning as I dropped my kids off for their last day at camp. No real reason to since the temperature is the same as it was a few days ago when I wore shorts and tank top, but for some reason, I threw it on.
Yes, we may have one official weekend left of summer, but apparently my inner style goddess is ready for fall.
I love summer, don’t get me wrong. The flip-flops and cute, colored toenails and the ability to walk outside without a coat, but living in Michigan, we are blessed with the changes of the seasons.
And for me at least, when the weather changes, it’s an opportunity to re-inspire myself. It helps me to never get bored and enjoy what the season has to offer.
And as the last days of summer roll by, no longer do my cute summer dresses hold the same appeal for me. Now they are old and boring and I’m tired of looking at them. Instead, my eyes are drawn to my jeans and I find myself debating if it’s too hot to put them on.
Each season has a style and as August comes to a close, I find myself already scoping out a new pair of boots that will match perfectly with my anticipated rustic color fall scheme.
I am looking forward to light sweaters carelessly pulled over a T-shirt, the perfect outfit for wandering through a pumpkin patch with my kids searching for the perfect pumpkin.
I’m already planning tailgate outfits with cute college logos and comfy new sneakers, as I get ready to cheer on my favorite team.
The blond highlights in my hair will soon be replaced by shades of browns and reds to match the falling leaves on the trail that I like to run.
I am already on a hunt for colorful scarves to tie around my neck and fluffy mittens to cover my hands as I grasp my warm cup of coffee during those windy morning soccer games.
I will miss summer, just like I always do. But as I'm packing away my sandals and jean skirts, at least I have something to look forward to, which just might include a new Coach bag.
