1. The weather

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after noon, according to the National Weather Service. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • Speedway: $3.57
  • Mobil: $3.59
  • Shell: $3.79
  • Lowest price at in Highland: $3.53 at Citgo at S. Milford Road and Watkins Boulevard.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.49 at the Marathon station at Silver Lake.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.59 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd. and BP at 9400 Lee Road.

3. Ranger's 4-H Club Cares for Community Garden

The Hartland based group cares for a community garden on Parshall Road, according to a story from the Press & Argus. Food from the garden goes towards the Livingston County Meals on Wheels program and Gleaners Food Bank.
