This week's savings tip

Saving money and learning good spending habits starts young. One of the easiest ways to teach children about money is by opening up their own savings account. Many financial institutions now offer kid-friendly accounts, for example the Quackers Club from the LOC Credit Union in Hartland and Howell, which offers not only kid-friendly accounts, but newsletters and programs designed to help kids learn about earning, saving and spending money responsibly. Check out what your bank has to offer and help your children start saving today.

If you have a savings tip you would like to share, please feel free to email me: tatumryan@gmail.com. You will receive credit for your idea.

About this column: This column will be dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week in the Hartland community that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.
