Hartland Cheer Takes Home Second Place in State Competition

The Hartland High School competitive cheer team won second place at the state competition this year.

The Hartland High School competitive cheerleading team won second place in this year's state finals.

The team competed Friday night in Grand Rapids, where Southgate Anderson captured first place in Division 1.

According to the MHSAA website, Southgate Anderson finished with a total score of 780.36, while Hartland followed with a total score of 778.48. Rochester Hills Stoney Creek came in third.

The cheer team came in fourth place at the finals in 2012.

My daughter cheered on the 1994 Cheer team, which was Third in States. Since then, to my knowledge, Third is the best Hartland result until now. Very good team! It is a tough competition. I know you practiced endless hours. You should all be very proud.
