Hartland High School Principal Will Be Taken into Custody for a Good Cause

High School principal Ben Mainka will be taken into custody, helping to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Hartland High School principal Ben Mainka, in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) will be taken into custody by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department on Feb. 28.

The Hartland principal will have a bail set of $2,400 and is asking for donations to help raise the money which will go to a good cause.

The Lock-Up fundraiser is the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s premier fundraising program, according to the MDA's fundraising website, which allows "jailbirds" several weeks time to raise their donations.

The fundraiser is also supported by the school's DECA organization and has currently raised $50.

The money raised will help send children with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp, according to a morning announcement from students at Hartland High School.
