Hartland Mexican Restaurants Celebrate Cinco De Mayo

To celebrate the a day that recognizes the heritage of Mexican Americans, Hartland's two Mexican restaurants are offering specials and creating a holiday atomosphere.

At Fiesta Mexican Cantina and Restaurant, 10016 Highland Rd, the staff are all wearing T-shirts that say "I survived Cinco De Mayo at Fiesta Hartland, MI" on the back. The restaurant, which opened an hour early at 10 a.m., is selling them for $15.

Its drink specials are $5 for a house 16-ounce magarita and $6 for a flavored 16-ounce margarita, $3.50 for its Mexican bottle beers and $1 for 12-ounce glass of Miller Lite.

The eatery will be open until 10 p.m.

At La Herradura Bar and Grill, 10574 Highland Rd, there are ballons tied to a new patio area that should be open as early as next week, said manager Erik Herrera.

Its food specials are enchiladas verdes and burrito mexicano for $8.99 and hard tacos for $1.25, soft tacos $1.35. Drink specials are $2.99 for 34-ounce domestic draft beer or a 12-ounce margarita.

The restaurant is open until 9:30 p.m.
