Latest Link: Rogers Rival Running in 2012

Democrat Lance Enderle of Lansing seeks 8th Congressional District seat.

Democrat Lance Enderle who unsuccessfully ran against U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers in 2010 is making another run to unseat the Howell Republican next year, the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus reports Wednesday.

Enderle, a former teacher who was appointed by Democrats to run after primary winner Democrat Kande Ngalamulume dropped out, tells the newspaper he's been running since the last election. Paperwork to run in the 8th Congressional District, which includes all of Livingston County, was filed in March, according to the article.

He lost with 35 percent of the vote, but argued he can win because of the abbreviated campaign and because of Rogers' votes on bills that would change to Medicare and to continue oil subsidies. He also said more should be done to promote job growth.

A spokesman for Rogers said in the article the congressman is focused on having the private sector create jobs and reducing rising fuel prices while keeping the country safe.

Rogers, in his sixth term, is the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
