More than $8,000 Worth of Jewelry, a Jaguar and Other Items Reported Stolen

A 2005 Jaguar was reported stolen from the 5000 block of Prairie View in Brighton on Dec. 19, according to a police report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
Police say the owner of the vehicle, valued at $5,000, noticed the car missing from his driveway at 2 a.m. but assumed his son had taken the car.
On Dec. 20, the owner made contact with his son who reported he hadn’t taken the car, according to the report. A set of car keys to the Jaguar were left in a Ford Focus, parked next to it in the owner’s driveway. The owner told police he was unsure if the Ford Focus had been left unlocked.
Brighton homeowner reports break-in
More than $8,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from the 6000 block of Pine Oaks Trail in Brighton on December 19, according to a police report from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
Police say a door to the home had been forced open, breaking the frame, which was later found in the homeowner’s basement.
According to the report, no other items, beside the jewelry, were taken.
Items taken from unlocked cars in Hartland
A Hartland man reported that two unlocked cars parked in his driveway on the 1000 block of Dorothys Way were broken into.
According to the report, a black leather bag valued at $50 was stolen. Police say the bag also contained the owner’s passport. A Dell laptop, valued at $2,000 was also reported stolen.
