Obituary: Karen Parrish, 49
Hartland resident was a "shining light" in the community.
Karen Parrish, 49, of Hartland, formerly of Walled Lake, passed away Jan. 29, 2012.
Parrish was the beloved wife of 25 years to Scott and loving mother of two daughters, Kelly and Leah Parrish.
“She was just such an amazing woman,” said Theresa Kull, a friend of Parrish. “I learned so much from her, about being a mom and about dealing with trials and tribulations with love and grace.”
It was the way she lived her life, Kull said, full of faith and grace, that was such an example for her and for many others. Kull also recalled Parrish’s ability to never complain about her own circumstances and to always put her family first in any situation.
“She was a huge example of how we all should behave in life,” she said. “Many people have echoed that they feel her loss because of that.”
A memorial will be set up for Parrish’s youngest daughter, Leah, at the LOC Federal Credit Union, according to Kull for anyone who would like to donate.
“I have to take comfort in knowing that she gave to Leah and Kelly- she has given them such an incredible foundation,” Kull said.
Donations are also being accepted at All Saints Lutheran in memory of Parrish which will go to a Memorial Garden at the church.
A memorial service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, in Walled Lake on Thursday at 1 p.m. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Condolences at www.LynchFAMILYFuneralDirectors.com.
