Power is Out for More Than 1100 Hartland/Brighton Residents
Hartland Lakes Elementary and Farms Intermediate Schools have been cancelled due to power outages.
More than 1100 Hartland area residents are without power this morning as the winds caused by Hurricane Sandy continue to gust.
According to a DTE Energy outage map, residents lost power 8:52 p.m. Monday. The largest areas that looks to be affected include homes off of Old U.S. 23 and Hyne Road.
Currently, DTE says power will be restored by Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 9:30 p.m.
On Monday, DTE Energy spokesman John Austerberry said that the Michigan-based gas and electric company is anticipate large outages.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Monday morning for all of southern Michigan, including Midland, Bay, Lenawee, Saginaw, Tuscola, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. The advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
