Resident Warns of Suspicious Activity in Hartland, Fenton

A woman is warning residents about two men approaching people in Fenton and Hartland and telling them their vehicle has overheated.
Adrienne Conner posted on the Hartland Patch Facebook Page, "FYI! There are two men driving around in a green pickup truck approaching women with children in the parking lots of Meijer, Walmart and Target stores at US 23/M 59 as well as the Fenton stores and asking for coolant. No one seems to know the motivation, but I would think that they're trying to get money and/or more while Mama's are distracted...."
Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police did receive complaints of a similar situation last month, but officers were unable to locate the suspects. He said no criminal activity had been reported.
"You have to be careful anytime you are approached by stranger," Aro said.
A Livingston County Sheriff's Department Seargent said he had no knowledge of any suspicious activity.

Yes! same thing happened to me at fenton walmart. It was a young man & woman, driving a dark blue van. They seemed quite nervous, said they were from owosso & car was overheated. They said they needed pink or green antifreeze. I got the feeling they were going to use it to make crystal meth or something. The guy was a little anxious acting. I got a bad feeling from them.I closed my door in their face & left quickly.

I was approached by suspicious youths at the entracnce to wal-mart. They were trying to divert my attention with offers of cookies.

Yes. I had this same thing happen to me. Twice actually now in the parking lot of the hartland Walmart. Same guy. First time w a pregnant girl , about a yr ago or a little more, second time alone, but it was last summer sometime. Both times I thought they were up to something shadey & I brushed them off as they asked for coolant. The first time I gave them change out of my pocket too, the 2nd time I was not having it b/c I totally remembered him. About 5'8, white male. Buzz cut about a 2 in length. Well dressed...nicer jeans and sneakers. Noticed a gold chain on him both times. I found his appereance clean cut. Would've had freckles I think but it was nite time both times so I couldn't quite tell. Hair color a lighter brown, possibly reddish brown. I reported it to Walmart the first time b/c I felt uneasy about it. The 2nd time I was mad so I left and did not. Specially mad about the time in between the 2 incidents. He should've been caught already. I can't imagine I was the only one so wtf walmart get security in that parking lot for a couple months and let's catch this guy and their scam.
