Cheer Wins Lakes Conference Title

COMPETITIVE CHEER — Hartland won the Kensington Lakes Activities Association Lakes Conference meet Saturday at Howell High School, according to results posted on the Michigan High School Competitive Cheer Web site.

GIRLS BASKETBALL — Hartland outlasted Milford 38-33. The Eagles, 12-1 overall and 6-1 in division, next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brighton.

Thursday

SWIMMING AND DIVING — Hartland defeated Brighton 116-67 to capture the Kensington Lakes Activities Association West Division dual meet championship, according to an e-mail from Hartland head coach Adam Wohl.

The Eagles won nine of 12 events while senior captain Austin Condra's 25.50 qualified him to swim in the 50 free at the state competition later this year. It's the second event he's qualified for — he's already in for the 100 freestyle, Wohl said.

With the win, the Eagles finished the year a perfect 5-0 in the KLAA West. Hartland is 7-2 overall. The team's final dual meet of the season is 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Livonia Stevenson.

BOYS AND GIRLS BOWLING — Hartland lost two competitive matches against Howell at , said Hartland coach Ron Heck.

The boys lost 16-14 with Josh Blanchard leading the Eagles with games of 278 and 201. The Eagles are now 1-11 overall and 1-8 in the division.

"It was close right to the end," Heck said.

The girls final score was 23-7, but Heck said the match was much closer against a top-ranked Howell team. Elizabeth Glasco threw a 213 and a 154 and Rachel Brewer rolled a 197 and 183 to lead the Eagles, which are now 4-7 overall and 4-5 in their division.

Hartland next bowls in a tournament on Saturday at Imperial Lanes in Utica.

BOYS HOCKEY — Howell routed Hartland 9-1 at Grand Oaks Ice Arena. The Eagles (9-8-1) next play 7 p.m. Saturday at Saginaw Heritage. For our coverage of the Howell game, click .

Monday

BOYS AND GIRLS SKIING — Both Hartland squads defeated Novi but the boys lost to Brother Rice and girls lost to Marian during two meets at Alpine Valley.

The girls (3-4) beat Novi 17-21, but lost to Marian 12-36. Mallory Reader finished first in the Novi meet with a combined time of 58.88. Rhianna Dilworth was second in 62.26. Reader was faster against Marian with a 58.55 but placed third.

The boys (3-4) won 14-22 against Novi with Graham Jassenn taking first in a combined 56.80. Colin David was third in 58.48. Like Reader, Janssen was faster against Brother Rice with a 56.60 but finished fourth.

BOYS AND GIRLS BOWLING — Brighton defeated both Hartland squads with the boys losing 19-11 and the girls 21-9 at 700 Bowl in South Lyon.

Sam Moesta shined for the Eagles with a 183 and 236, said Hartland coach Ron Heck.

"They bowled really well," Heck said. "Brighton is high ranked in the state."
