A 22-year old Jackson woman and 31-year-old Jackson man were arrested on larceny charges on Jan. 28 after stealing car parts from Miechiel's Auto Salvage in Marion Township, just south of the Howell city limits, according to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
The woman was the get-a-way driver and was found in a vehicle in the parking lot of the El Patron restaurant at the corner of Lucy Rd and Grand River Ave. Police said she was waiting to pick up two male suspects that were stealing car parts from inside the salvage yard.
Police said the two suspects cut-off 13 catalytic converters while in the salvage yard and staged them along Lucy Rd. Police confronted the suspects inside the salvage yard.
One of the men, later identified as a 30 year-old Jackson resident, fled from the scene on foot and remains at large, according to police. The other man, along with the woman, were taken into custody and lodged at the Livingston County Jail without incident.
The names of the suspects are being withheld pending their arraignment. Deputies were assisted in this investigation by the Howell City Police.
