Weekend Planner: Christmas Pageant, 'Elf Party,' Live Nativity and Santa

Here's a look at what's happening around the Hartland area this weekend.

 

1. CHURCH HOSTS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PAGEANT, BREAKFAST

Where: Hartland United Methodist Church, 10300 Maple Road, Hartland

When: 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 (pageant); United Methodist Men host a breakfast that runs from 8-9 a.m. preceding the pageant.

Cost: Free; however, a free-will offering is accepted for the breakfast

Why go: Live from Bethlehem features cute kids, Christmas songs and much more!

2. 'CHILD OF THE PROMISE'

Where: Hartland High School, 10635 Dunham Road, Hartland

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18

3. SQUIRES RETURNS FOR SECOND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SHOW

Where: Kahuna Coffee, 1836 N. Old U.S. 23, Hartland (Howell mailing)

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 16

Cost: Free

Why go: Enjoy Squires' special blend of music in a show designed for the whole family!

4. LIVE NATIVITY AT HARDY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Where: Hardy United Methodist Church, 6510 E Highland Rd, Oceola Township (Howell mailing)

When: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 and Saturday, Dec. 17

Cost: Free

Why go: This 51st annual event features a live Nativity scene, a free drama every 30 minutes and refreshments inside the church, which is decorated with additional Nativity scenes. If you desire a peaceful moment, feel free to slip into the open santuary for prayer or meditation.

5. 'A VISIT TO THE NORTH POLE: ELF PARTY 2011'

 Where: Fenton Village Players, 14197 Torrey Road, Fenton

When: 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17

Cost: $5 at the door

Why go: 'Elf Party 2011' is this year's Fenton Village Players' fabulous holiday production; it's a one-hour show followed by cookies and more North Pole fun in the lobby! Bring your cameras to have your picture taken with Santa after the show!
