Weekend Planner: Food Drive With Santa, Cookie Walks, Fiber Art Sale and Warm N' Cozy Bazaar

Here's a look at what's happening around the Hartland area this weekend.

 

1. SEE SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS, HELP GLEANERS

Where: Tyrone Township Hall, 10408 Center Road, Fenton

When: 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3

Cost: Bring non-perishable food goods for people and pets; there's no charge to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus

Why go: Help families in need during the holiday season; also, you may bring your camera to take the kids' pics with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

2. BLACK SHEEP WEAVERS FIBER GUILD'S ANNUAL HOLIDAY SALE

Where: Hartland Insurance Agency, 2532 N Old US 23, Hartland (Howell mailing)

When: 3-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3

Cost: No admission fee

Why go: The sale offers unique, hand-crafted, fiber-based items at reasonable prices while helping to support local fiber artists.

3. WARM N' COZY BAZAAR

Where: Hartland Educational Support Service Center, 9525 E Highland Road, Hartland (Howell mailing)

When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3

Cost: $2

Why go: The bazaar, which will feature more than 200 booths selling handmade, original items. It raises about $10,000 annually that the Hartland Women's Club donates to about 30 area causes that in the past has included Meals on Wheels and the Family Resource Center.

4. ALL SAINTS LUTHERAN AND HARTLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH COOKIE WALKS

Where: All Saints Lutheran Church, 12701 Highland Rd, Hartland/Hartland United Methodist Church, 10300 Maple Rd, Hartland

When: 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (All Saints)/9 a.m.-noon (Hartland UMC)

Cost: $7 per box of cookies (All Saints); cookie prices vary at Hartland UMC sale

Why go: Get a variety of Christmas cookies for a reasonable price without making them yourself.

5. WINTER MARKETPLACE

Where: The Opera House, 123 W. Grand River, Howell

When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4

Cost: Free

Why go: Enjoy choosing from local eggs, meat, fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, fine arts, jewelry, pottery and more in this historic architectural jewel.
