WITH VIDEO: Walkers Show their Support for Relay
The 24-hour event takes place at the Hartland High School.
The opening ceremony for the 2012 Relay for Life in Hartland took place Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Hartland High School track.
The Survivor Lap, led by cancer survivors, officially opened the 24-hour walking event that raises money for cancer research.
Twenty-five teams will participate in fun laps and team competitions throughout the day to reach an event goal of $59,000.
The event runs until 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
