5 Fitness Classes To Try After Kids are Back in School

Check out these local classes that will help you stay in shape this year.

As the school bus pulls away Tuesday morning taking the kids back to class, head over to your local gym to take some classes of your own.

1. Triple 15 offered at My Stronger Self

  • This class combines 15 minute intervals of Step, Aerobic and Toning exercises. It's a triple threat to that unwanted body fat.
2. Simply Move offered through Hartland Community Education
  • This is a low impact aerobic class that is designed to get your heart rate elevated to burn calories, and strengthen and tone your muscles to provide balance and stability. Chairs will be used to aid in balance, and provide a means to perform "floor work" for those that can not yet get down to the floor to work out.
3. Yoga|Pilates offered through Yoga Center for Healthy Living
  • This class combines the best of both worlds. A student can expect a variety of both Pilates exercises and yoga poses. This combination includes a strong workout, a deep stretch, and breath work. Using both practices together can create a stronger core and a more flexible spine. Yoga/Pilates is an all levels class.
4. Jazzercise Dance Fitness offered through Jazzercise Brighton
  • Burn up to 600 calories in one fun and powerfully effective 60-minute total body workout. Every Jazzercise group dance fitness class combines dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching to sculpt, tone and lengthen muscles for maximum fat burn.
5. Real Rider offered by Top Dog Fitness
  • Made to Move...RealRyder is a completely new kind of fitness equipment that is revolutionizing the world of indoor cycling.
