Community Invited to Officially Open New Park on Heritage Day

A ribbon cutting ceremony for Settlers Park will take place on Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m.

With winding trails covering a scenic route, the new Settlers Park will officially be welcomed into the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony during Heritage Day in Hartland this Saturday, Sept. 21.

The "just over a mile" long trail is currently open and available to the public, according to Hartland Township Director of Communications Colleen Rosso, who said many Hartland residents are already taking advantage of the new park.

“We envision Settlers Park to become a year-round recreational hub for the community,” Robert West, director of Public Works said in a previous release. “The walking path will be completed by fall and then we will move on to planning phase II of the development.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m. at the park's entrance located next to the Hartland Township building at 2655 Clark Rd.
