Donated Work Helps Repair Hartland Museum

Generous donations of supplies and labor helped to repair the foundation at the Florence B. Dearing Museum.

With the foundation literally crumbling around them, members of Hartland’s Historical Society had been keeping a close eye of the condition of the Florence B. Dearing Museum, which is why repair work was done to the building this week.

Crews and supplies were donated for the project from Basement Cracks and Leaks in Fenton where the owner, Gwen Brown, is also a friend to historical society member Tom Parshall.

“These are the best guys around,” said Parshall, explaining that is was because of Brown’s generosity that the work was able to be completed.

“It’s good for the community,” foreman David Dean said. “And we’re pretty local so we try and help each other out.”

The museum is also scheduled to be painted next week with some of the supplies being donated for that project as well, according to Parshall.
