Hartland UMC Service Hosts Christmas Pageant

A non-traditional Christmas pageant is the highlight of Hartland United Methodist Church's 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday. Jenny LaRue, 30, who's been a church member for about a year, is helping to organize the event, called "Operation Baby King." The pageant "retells the Christmas story" in a modern style while staying true to its roots, she added. It's set up like a mystery story."There are these angel spies, whose job is to figure out what's going on and to protect the baby," LaRue explained. Fred Finzer, Hartland UMC pastor, says that the service still should conclude at the regular 11:15 a.m. time, even though it's followed with singing by the combined children's and adult choirs. LaRue added that the members of the congregation and guests are welcome to join in the singing. For more information about this event, contact the church office at 810-632-7476.
