Good Morning Hartland

It's Monday -- have a great week, Hartland. Here are some tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

1. The weather

Expect some rain today before 4 pm, then scattered rain and snow showers, according to the National Weather Service. Some thunder is also possible. Temperatures rising to near 49 by noon, then falling to around 39 during the remainder of the day. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

  • Shell: $3.57
  • Mobil: $3.52
  • Lowest price at in Highland: $3.39 at Citgo S Milford Rd near Watkins Blvd.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.44 at the Marathon station at Silver Lake and Lincoln.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.37 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd.

3. PLAY 60 Efforts Encouraged By Hartland High Sophomores

Hartland High School sophomores Raben O'Rourke and Hannah Schultz work with students from Farms Intermediate to teach them about exercise and healthy living, according to an article from the Press & Argus. They are part of a local branch for the national movement of Fuel up to Play 60 a program designed to combat childhood obesity.

4. School Board Meeting Tonight

The Hartland Schools Board of Education holds a 6:30 p.m. meeting Monday in the boardroom of the , 9525 E Highland Rd. On the agenda is the 2012/2013 Hartland High School curriculum guide and best practices resolution.

5. Hartland trivia

Congrats to Linda Bowen for correctly answering Friday's question — What year was the Florence B. Dearing Museum designated as a Michigan historical site? Answer: 1975.
