1. The weather

The morning will begin with frost, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be 49, with a low of 32.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $4.14
  • Mobil: $4.15
  • Shell: $4.19
  • Lowest price at in Highland: $3.97 at Citgo at Highland and Hickory Ridge roads.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.72 at the Clark station at Leroy and 3rd streets.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.99 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd. and BP at 9400 Lee Road.

3. Are you feeling lucky?

The Mega Millions jackpot has hit an estimated $500 million for Friday's drawing. Officials say it would be thein the game's 15-year history. The drawing occurs at 11 p.m., with a 10:45 p.m. cutoff for buying tickets.

4. Book signing

Five authors will be at at 10 a.m. Saturday to sign their books. Featured books include: Dewey's First Adventure by Alecia Martino
Green Eggs and Manna by Judith Burkhardt
Death Happened, Now What? by Linda Pouliot

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.

The carnival was a great idea. I hope Hartland Township will do more things like that for families.Read More Our family had a great time and the kids enjoyed all the rides.
