Single Lane Closures to Begin this Weekend in Hartland

Road work begins June 15 and the project is expected to be completed by November 15.

Drivers in Hartland will have to start packing their patience this weekend as the season of orange barrels and road construction begins.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be paving parts of M-59 and also creating a center-left turn lane at Kellogg Rd., according to MDOT spokesperson Kari Arend.

The project will take several months to complete and will include re-surfacing areas of road west of Oakway Dr. to just west of Old US-23.

On Saturday, motorists can expect to see single lane closures in each direction on M-59 from Argentine Rd. to Musson Rd, “so crews can install a traffic shift for widening work near Kellogg Rd," according to Arend.

“Shortly after this work is completed, the contractor will shift traffic down to the south side of M-59 and install a concrete barrier wall,” Arend said. “This is for the construction of the center left turn lane at Kellogg.”
