Day of Caring Health Fair

The third annual Day of Caring Health Fair takes place from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital in the community rooms at the west entrance.

The hospital, located at 620 Byron Road in Howell, offers a completely free event that, along with the following free screenings, are open to the public:

-Skin cancer screening from 2-5 p.m.
-Blood pressure screening
-Body Mass Index (BMI) & body fat percentage readings
-American Heart Association My Life Check

A live WHMI broadcast will take place from 2-4 p.m.

Other activities include:
-Prescription drug take back (Livingston County Sheriff’s Department will be collecting unused and expired medications for safe disposal)
-Free produce from Gleaner’s Community Food Bank
-Dental health education and resources
-Fall prevention
-Mature drivers course demo
-Chair massages
-Breast Friends For Life - Find out about free mammograms for women ages 40-49
-CPR hands only demo
-Tackle Tobacco - get help to quit smoking
-Asthma education
-Depression and substance abuse support
-Tips on healthy eating and nutrition
-Stroke robot and more
