The Kettle Concerts at The Hartland Music Hall

The Kettle features three new concerts in April and May at the Hartland Music Hall.

On April 2, Jim Malcolm, known as one of Scotland's finest folk singers and songwriters and former lead singer with the world-renowned Old Blind Dogs, and winner of Scotland's 2004 Songwriter of the Year, makes a repeat appearance. '

Julianne and The Rogues' lead singer is a farmer's daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter who write her own songs, sings and plays an instrument. She was nominated for three 2010 Detroit Music Awards. The group takes the Music Hall stage on April 16.

Cats and the Fiddler, an amazing bluegrass trio composed of three 14-year-olds, brings a unique sound to the The Kettle's 2010-2011 series. The group has recognized as the winners of the local Got Talent? competition and also performed at the 2009 Detroit Music Awards, the 2009 IBMA World of Bluegrass Songwriters Showcase and Bluegrass in the Schools in Nashville, Tennessee.

Doors open for all shows at 7:30 p.m. May 21, followed by open mic and the concert.

Tickets are available at the door and in advance at Milford Music, Milford Feed, Hartland Community Education and Hartland Flowers. They also may be purchased online using PayPal. (If you buy right now, it's $18 for two concerts: Jim Malcom and Julianne and The Rogues.)

Adult tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for Jim Malcolm's performance; they are $10 in advance and $12 at the door to see Julianne and The Rogues and Cats and the Fiddler. Children 11 and younger are admitted to all three shows free of charge.

A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Gleaners.
