New Additions to Hartland High School for 2013-14

The first day of school is September 3.

The first day of school is just around the corner and students at Hartland High School can expect some changes and additions.

1. DTE Solar Farm

The new site for the approximately two-acre installation is located directly behind the high school building in a “lagoon” area, which was formerly used for the school’s sanitation system, and will have an area designated for educational purposes.

2. Sign Language Classes

American Sign Language is set to be offered at the high school to fulfill a two-year world language requirement. ASL is currently offered to eighth grade students at Hartland Middle School, and more than 20 students currently taking the course expressed interest in continuing their education.

3. Girls High School Field Hockey Team

Try-outs for the new field hockey team will begin on Aug. 14 at the high school practice fields from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with coach Radcliffe.

4. 7th Hour Classes

Smaller class sizes, more opportunities and flexible schedule are pros to having the new addition at the high school according to Hartland High School principal.
