Finders Keepers Says Good-Bye to Hartland

After two years in Hartland, the "magical little shop" has closed its doors.

Another Hartland small business has closed its doors for good.

One week after word spread of the closing of Bagel Express, Finders Keepers, the upscale consignment shop located at 10000 Highland Rd., is saying good-bye to the Hartland community after two years.

“I have no regrets,” shop owner Elaine Boria said. “That two years was a great two years and I got so many wonderful things for myself and other people and I met so many friends and I had so much fun that I wouldn’t trade that for the world.”

The decision to close was a hard one, according to Boria but one she said she made based on several factors, including changes to her own schedule and also her family’s.

In the beginning, Boria said her family was able to help more with the running of Finders Keepers, but with her husband’s current work schedule and her one son moving out of state for college, the workload and time became too much for her alone.

"I was moving China cabinets, hutches and couches all by myself and I'm just not made for that," she said with a laugh. "I don't want to be doing that stuff."

Calling her shop a “magical little place,” Boria said she will miss the people she has met and the fun times the shop provided for not only her, but her customers as well.

“So many people loved to come in there to relax, talk and unwind,” she said. “It was a great place for all of us, but it’s time. I'll miss Hartland, but it's time to go."
