Food, Fun and Family the Focus of Hartland's Tony Sacco's

The Hartland Tony Sacco's, located in the Waldenwoods Shopping Center, will open this Sunday at 11 a.m.

Transforming the former Blockbuster location at the Waldenwoods Shopping Center into Hartland's newest sit-down, family-style restaurant, Tony Sacco's Coal Oven Pizza is ready to open their Hartland location August 11 starting at 11 a.m.

With an outdoor patio, separated bar area and a viewing space for kids of all ages to watch their pizzas being made, the newly renovated space was designed for families and fun meals out, according to Manager Jennifer Kramer.

Using only fresh ingredients and a coal-burning oven, customers get the chance to watch the pizza making process unfold before their eyes starting with the traditional flipping of the dough to finally pulling it out of the brick oven.

The menu has a variety of items to choose from such as specialty pizzas such as the Aloha and BBQ to unique appetizers like the garlic rotolis that are sure to become a family favorite and have the table fighting for the last one.

One of the more popular menu items is the Capo pizza, according to Kramer, who said the caramelized onions really give the pizza an extra kick, but also recommended trying the BBQ pizza when customers were in the mood for something different.

With their grand opening this Sunday, Kramer, whose husband Mark is the General Manager and a 1999 Hartland grad, said the staff is excited to begin serving the area, but also to become a presence within the community.

"Our main thing isn't just to be a restaurant in the community, but to be relevant in the community," she said.

From sponsoring sports teams or school events to streaming local games on the large TV screens to helping to raise money for fundraisers, Kramer said Tony Sacco's has plans to add more to the Hartland community than just great food.

"We do a ton of fundraising and a ton of awareness," she said. "Because we're just so thankful to be here."
