Meijer customers in Hartland will have more options for trying to finish all their errands in one place with the opening of a new banking location inside the local super store.
Huntington Bank opened its first location in Livingston County on Oct. 29 and according to vice president Brian Bromley, Huntington hopes to eventually have bank locations in every Meijer store that has available tenant space.
“We are thrilled to be in the Hartland community, especially in such a nice development that Huntington can be a part of,” Bromley said. “I think Meijer is obviously a great retailer in the Midwest and the state of Michigan and the Huntington values and what we will bring to the Hartland community, I think, are very strong.”
Partnering with the large Michigan-based retailer, Bromley says the Ohio-based banking company hopes to provide not only great product and service, but also convenience to their customers with an easy-access location and longer hours.
Open seven days a week, the Hartland Meijer location will be open Mon. through Fri. from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with weekend hours of Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
“Studies show that, if they (customers) shop at Meijers, they generally go two to three times a week,” Bromley said. “And so, what great convenience that your bank is there to offer such great service and great products along with the convenience of those hours.”
During the first 60 days of their grand opening, Huntington Bank will be offering certain customer promotions based on qualifications that include $100 for consumers opening a new checking account and $200 for businesses.
In 2011, Huntington Bank was awarded a banker distinction honor for the midwest from Money Magazine, according to Bromley, and says they believe their asterick-free checking is one of the “best” offered in the United States.
