Deneweth's Garden Center is Awarded 'Best New Business of 2012'

The local garden center is also a "one-stop" shop for holiday shopping.

When Deneweth’s Garden Center opened their doors in Hartland a year and a half ago, the store was already in the process of transforming their M-59 location into a vibrant and colorful garden center.

Their efforts, hard work and variety of products have not gone unnoticed within the community, according to Hartland Chamber Executive Director Jana Waford, who recently awarded the business with the “Best New Business of 2012” award from the Hartland Chamber of Commerce.

“They really have a lot to offer,” Wardford said. “And they’re a great new business and they really contribute to the chamber.”

Excited by the award, store manager Tracy DeNise was thankful for the recognition of the hard work of the entire staff and the community’s response.

“We love Hartland,” DeNise said. “And we’re excited because we’re just getting started and there’s a lot more neat things we have planned for the area."

And with only 12 shopping days left before Christmas Day, Warford calls the store a “one-stop shop” and recommends that people check out Deneweth’s for some unique gift ideas.

“They have a lot of Made in Michigan products and you can create your basket,” she said.

Candles, wreaths, jellies, Towne Club pop and other seasonal decorations are just some of the popular items available to help spruce up your home for holidays.

And for families still in search of the perfect tree, Deneweth’s hopes to provide a fun, holiday shopping experience completed by a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.

“We’re trying to build an experience for people when they come,” DeNise said. “A traditional holiday thing and just make it fun.”
