Patch Picks: 5 Spas for Rest and Relaxation

You don't have to travel far to take a break.

Springtime is a time for renewal, so why not hit the spa? There are many great places locally, and although I think massage therapy is great as someone who likes to run, I have to admit I'm not one who would routinely stop by a spa.

So, thanks for the help in generating this list from a discussion on our Facebook page.

Here they are:

  • – As I said above, I favor a massage place and this one offers deep tissue, Swedish, hot stone and prenatal massages.
  • Therese Cranick recommends in Brighton. She said: "I am not yet familiar with any Harland places, but I have to RAVE about Michelle's Day Spa in Brighton. I have been quite a few times and you're treated like a queen and their services are amazing. From their esthetician to their masseuses it is all top-rate and completely worth the money. And on a wonderful note, the owners are VERY supportive of their community and generous with helping out their schools."
  • Patch calendar editor Anne Seebaldt recommend .
  • Cindy Bluhm Meyer recommeds LaVida Massage in Brighton.
  • And for our pets: We have in Hartland.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Next week's Patch Picks: 5 Great Places for a Spring Break Staycation. Put your suggestions in the comments box below or e-mail me at christofer.machniak@patch.com. I'll also ask on Facebook early next week. And be sure to come back to see our picks.
