Yoga Studio Brings 'Good Karma' to Hartland

Good Karma Yoga Studio opens in Hartland on Sept. 15 offering free classes starting at 7 a.m.

With the simple idea that "everyone should do yoga," Good Karma Yoga Studio will open their doors in Hartland on Sept. 15 bringing zen, meditation and the ability to find your "inner pretzel" to the community.

The newly re-modeled space, located at 1744 N Old US 23, behind O'Malley's Irish Pub in the Fountain Walk Shopping Center, was an easy sell for the three co-owners, according to Hartland resident and co-owner Tanya Pence.

"We were told it just looked like a yoga studio," she said.

From the large open space, floor to ceiling windows for natural light, and separate changing rooms for clients, Pence said the space was exactly what they had been searching for and very little work was needed to transform the location.

Partnering with long-time friend and yoga partner Donna Hipple and Hartland resident Jennifer Slis, the three co-owners of Good Karma have more than two decades worth of experience and one goal in mind-- to make yoga fun.

"We didn't want to scare anyone away," Pence said. "We want it to be a light, fun, humorous and welcoming place."

With six instructors teaching classes ranging from Yoga 101 to more advanced options, Good Karma will offer a seven-day-a-week, consistent class schedule.

On Sunday, Good Karma will also be hosting an Open House with free classes starting at 7 a.m.

The free Open House class schedule includes:

  • 7 a.m. – Sunrise Yoga
