September is Sports Eye Injury Prevention Month!
As students get ready for back to school, Prevent Blindness America, The Coalition to Prevent Sports Eye Injuries and Liberty Sport, Inc. support September as Sports Eye Injury Prevention Awareness Month for the second year in an effort to educate the public on the importance of wearing proper eye protection while playing sports.

Ask any player who has suffered through a debilitating eye injury, keeping them out of the game and off the court what they wish they had done to protect their eyes. Protective Eyewear is a simple step to protect vision, heighten visual clarity and keep your player in the game.

According to Prevent Blindness America, more than 40,000 people a year suffer eye injuries while playing sports. For all age groups, sports-related eye injuries occur most frequently in baseball, basketball and racquet sports from impact of the ball, fist, and elbow

Parents should consult their eye doctor for protective eyewear recommendations before enrolling in any sport and understand that regular glasses do not protect from eye injuries. At least 90 out of 100 of eye injuries are preventable. As students head back to school and get their physicals before starting athletics, make sure an eye exam is on the list. Don’t be sidelined this season!

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
