Welcome to Thursday. Here are five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

And remember always included in this Monday through Friday feature is a video (at right) from someone wishing every one "good morning" as part of a message to our community.

1. The weather

We're getting a good glimpse of fall today with party sunny skies and a high near 58 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a north, northwest wind between 11 and 18 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Tonight, there's a possibility of frost, especially in rural areas, as temperatures drop to a low of around 37.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.84
  • : $3.94
  • Shell: $3.98
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.57 at the Mobil at N. LeRoy  and S. Long Lake and the Martahon at N. LeRoy and Glenwood.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.72 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd in Green Oak Township.

3. Spots available in outing for Hartland gymnastics

The Hartland Gymnastics Academy has a few spots remaining in its 2nd annual golf outing 1 p.m. Saturday at . The event is a benefit for the academy. If interested, contact Nancy Jason at 810-225-9517.

4. A chance to be in 'Good Morning Hartland'

Want to say, "Good morning, Hartland?" We'll be recording anyone who wants to deliver a message to our community at our booth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday during the 9th annual Hartland Heritage Day in the village area of Hartland. Ideas for messages include sharing information about upcoming events, recognizing someone in the community or just saying what's on your mind.

5. Hartland trivia
