Happy Monday. I'm sorry my slow start today, but without further delay — here are five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

1. The weather
It looks like today will be a great day weatherwise with a high of 74 degrees, with a slight northwest wind of 6-9 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. This evening will be party cloudy, with a low around 57.

2. Fuel prices
Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

- Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.52 at the Marathon station at N. LeRoy and Glenwood and at the Mobil station N. LeRoy and S. Long Lake.
- Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.64 at Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd, in Green Oak Township.
3. Local jobs available with Hartland schools
Food service subs and bus drivers are needed, according to the September edition of Community Life.
Those interested in food service can apply at Village Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 810-626-2868 for more information.
Those interested in bus driving, which has regular and sub openings, call Hartland transportation at 810-626-2175.
4. Melon Run Results
There were at least six Hartland area finishers in Friday's Melon races. For complete results, click here.
