It's a new week, Hartland, and the second for this feature that offers five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful on a daily basis before 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

1. THE WEATHER: Wake-up to a potential rumbly start to the day with 60 percent chance of thunderstorms possible before 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The sun then returns with some clouds as temperatures are expected to rise to 89.

2. FUEL PRICES: Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com

  • Lowest price in the state: $3.21 at a station in St. Johns.
  • Highest price in the state: $4.05 at a station in Westland.

3. CHANGE IN PLANS: Cromaine District Library's will have a new act this Wednesday as “A Night of Latin Jazz” with Oakland University Jazz Quartet performing. The Habibi Dancers, who were previously scheduled, canceled because a death of one of their troupe.

Music starts at 7:30 p.m. but food, drinks and snacks are available at 6:30 p.m. on the south lawn next to the main branch in the village area of Hartland. The items are available for donation from the Rangers 4-H club.

4. GIVE BACK BY GIVING BLOOD: is hosting from 1:30-6:45 p.m. Monday. The American Red Cross says there is a critical shortage right now.
