Glad you like it. That's what we thought. BTW, would everyone like the video automatically pop up or would you prefer having to click on it?
Linda Bowen July 19, 2011 at 08:17 pm
Chris, as someone who does web usability work for a living, I can tell you that having videos play automatically has long been considered a user-experience no-no. Studies have shown that users generally don't like content thrust upon them so allowing the user to make the decision to play the video is the better option. That said, I really like this feature!

Any thoughts as to why Speedway's gas prices are always the lowest of the three stations?
Christofer Machniak July 19, 2011 at 08:46 pm
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the feedback. I have received an email from someone who likes this way. I would tend to agree with you, though, about the auto-playing. Still, I also think sometimes videos can get missed if we don't feature them prominently. I'm willing to go either way, so anyone else feel free to weigh in. - Chris

I might be old-fashioned, but I feel that having the video automatically turn on is an intrusion on the reader's senses as well as on the peace and quiet of anyone in the room, such as hubby sleeping, for example. Also, if one is working in an office or library environment, the noise can be annoying and even alarming for others in the room who are deep in thought. Please go back to letting us turn it on if we want. Thanks!

I have wondered why the disparity in gas prices. Would there be anyone who could research this so that we could better understand why gas prices have to vary so much?

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
