Happy middle of the week. Here are our five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful on a daily basis before 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

1. The weather

Another day where we'll all feel the heat with the hottest days expected Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. We have an excessive heat warning until 10 p.m. Thursday and another air quality alert, but Wednesday will start off with some patchy fog before 9 a.m. Once the fog burns off, it'll be mostly sunny with temperatures rising from overnight lows of 75 to a high near 93.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com

3. Dispose of unwanted prescription drugs

The event is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Hartland Senior Center, which is on the west side of the Hartland Educational Support Service Center, 9525 Highland Rd. The center, the Livingston County Sheriff's Department and County Commissioner Dave Domas organized the collection.

4. Free concert at library

A Night of Latin Jazz with the Oakland University Jazz Quartet is performing from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on the south lawn at the main branch of the . Food and beverages from the Ranger 4-H Club and popcorn from the Friends of Cromaine Library are available with a donation suggested.

5. Hartland trivia

No one was able to answer Tuesday's question: Who was "Mr. Hartland"? He was the late Don Epley, for whom is named. Epley was involved for decades with the fire department, Boy Scouts, the and the .

Wednesday's question: In May, the museum dedicated to Hartland history in the village area was reopened after renovations. Whom is the museum named for and what was the person's primary job? Please answer in comments.
