Good Morning Hartland (9-14-11)

It's the middle of the week. Here are five tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

And remember always included in this Monday through Friday feature is a video (at right) from someone wishing every one "good morning" as part of a message to our community. Also, this was a our final back-to-school video. Thanks to all those in the schools who participated.

1. The weather

There's a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, as clouds increase, with a high near 69. Also, expect a west wind between 5 and 14 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 22 mph. Rain remains possible through 2 a.m., but overnight you might need the heat — a low of 38 is predicted. Brrrrrr! Too soon!

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.88
  • : $3.98
  • Shell: $3.98
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.63 at 10 stations, including four at Owen Road and U.S. 23.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.72 at Costco at 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd in Green Oak Township.

4. Hartland Home & Garden Club features horticulturalist
