Santa Claus Says 'Good Morning, Hartland!' During Visit to the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority

It's Tuesday. Here are some tidbits of news and information that we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

Please also don't miss our video greeting (at right) from Santa Claus, who has been all over Hartland lately and will be at the Cromaine District Library . The free event has hit capacity and there is a waiting list, but you can call about late openings at 810-632-5200.

1. The weather

Mostly cloudy skies are expected with a high near 42 degrees and light winds, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, there's a 30 percent chance of rain after 3 a.m. with lows near around freezing.

2. Fuel prices

Here's a quick daily survey of the regular per-gallon price, according to gasbuddy.com —

  • : $3.36
  • Mobil: $3.46 (cash is 10 cents lower)
  • Shell: $3.49
  • Lowest price at Hickory Ridge and M-59 in Highland: $3.23 at Citgo.
  • Lowest price in the Fenton area: $3.19 at the Marathon station at Silver Lake and Lincoln.
  • Lowest price in the Brighton area: $3.21 at the BP station at Lee and Whitmore Lake.

3. New features on Hartland Patch

Today, we've added some new features on our site, including a place designed to make it easier for you to upload photos and videos called "Your Neighborhood Gallery." It can be found in the top toolbar under "Gallery" or through a direct link at http://hartland.patch.com/gallery.

4. Upcoming Hartland Township Planning Commission meeting canceled

Thursday's 7 p.m. Hartland Township Planning Commission meeting at Hartland Township Hall has been canceled, according to the township.

Meetings are usually held the first and third Thursday of each month.

5. Hartland trivia
