Remembering 9/11 and honoring those who defend our country.

It's been 11 years since 9/11 and the terroists attacks against the World Trade Center and Pentagon, as well as United Airlines Flight 93 that went down in the fields of Pennsylvania.

Patriot Day honors September 11 with all American flags flown at half-mast and many people observing a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane flew into the World Trade Center.

Many families across the nation and around the world still feel the effects of that day, whether it's remembering those lost on that day or those who have fought or continue to fight the war on terroism.

For families with soldiers, past and present, the symbol of yellow ribbons, which became widely known in the 1970s as a reminder of an absent loved one, typically military, and are hung until their soldier returns.

In honor of 9/11 this year, share a photo of your yellow ribbon, past or present, and tell us who your ribbon honors.

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
