Tornado Rips Through Dexter, Domestic Violence Cases Drop in Fenton

There was plenty of big news around Hartland this week.

Here is a list of the top five most interesting stories from around the Fenton area this week.

1. WHMI is reporting that local authorities are investigating a complaint of student “sexting” at Parker Middle School in Howell. According to WHMI, Michigan State Police at the Brighton Post confirmed that they did receive a complaint and are handling the investigation.

2. Dexter Patch had plenty of great coverage of a tornado that caused major damage Thursday night. They included many , a and a of someone that lived through it.

4. The reported that a Linden City manager candidate had been fired from his last job because he was accused of giving out Social Security numbers without permission. Once Linden officials were made aware of the legal troubles, the man was dropped from the candidate list.

5. The Flint Journal ran an interesting story about domestic violence on the rise in the area, however those crimes have actually decreased in Fenton. The number of violence cases Fenton Police handled went from 78 in 2010 to 57 in 2011, according to the article.
