Weekend Planner: Car Show, Memorial Ride, Fun Outdoors Highlight Our List

Check out what's happening in the greater Hartland area this weekend.

It’s almost Friday (and likely by the time you read this) and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Don't worry: Hartland Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for this weekend:

1. ST. JOHN CHURCH CAR SHOW

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2099 N. Hacker Rd, in Oceola Township just west of Hartland.

Why go: See classic and comtemporary cars compete including a LPE Corvette ZR-1 and an Italian Super Car.

Price: $2 per car for general admission; $20 show car fee

When/where: 10 a.m. Saturday, 101 Genesee St, Gaines

When/where: 5 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday at

Why go: Outdoor activities include kayaking, canoeing, fishing, a climbing wall, geocaching games, bounce house, owl programs and a showing of the movie "Yogi Bear" on a giant inflatable screen under the stars. There will also be a community bonfire pit for roasting marshmallows.

Price: $35-$50 per camp site; $7 per car for evening activities only.

When/where: Saturday, Sunday throughout the day for the hayrides while the water park is Friday through Sunday at Kensington Metropark in Milford.

Why go: Take a ride through the park in a horse drawn carriage or visit the water park at Martindale Beach.

Price: $5 per adult/$3 per child & seniors plus park entry fee for hayrides. Fee is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 2-15, and free for children under the age of 2 for the waterpark. (Park entry $5/day or purchase an annual pass for $25, but seniors pay only $15).
